FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - It's a celebration of pets and a fundraiser for Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control education and outreach programs.  Preventing animal cruelty and neglect is the end goal.  It will be held on Sunday, October 14, at Franke Park, Pavilion number one.  Walkers can participate with or without a dog.

Pre-registration will begin at 11:30a.m.  Prior to the walk, a number of animal friendly businesses will showcase services and offer samples.  The walk will kick off at 1p.m.

To attend the event just register and raise a minimum pledge of $33 per adult or child or $120 per family of one household.  Registration forms are available to download or pick up at 3020 Hillegas Road and area veterinarian offices.  Depending on the total raised, walkers can win a t-shirt ($25-$99), sweatshirt ($100-$499), hoodie ($500 to $999) or fleece pullover ($1,000).  Top prizes will be awarded to an adult, youth and family based on amount raised.
