Fort Wayne, Ind. (WANE) - As the 10th annual Share the Warmth Coats for Kids campaign gets underway it's estimated that over 22,100 coats have been donated in nine years by the Northeast Indiana Community for local children in need. Beginning November 9 those who are able can provide that gift of warmth once again.
Brand new and gently-used children's coats in sizes 6-14 as well as new mittens, hats and scarves will be accepted at Peerless Cleaners, Scott's Food & Pharmacy and Kroger locations in Northeast Indiana. Adult size coats will also be accepted. The outerwear collection will continue through November 29 at these locations so that coats can be cleaned and distributed to children in the area as soon as possible.
To augment the campaign the U.S. 93.3 Tour Bus will take to the road for six stops around Fort Wayne to Fill the Bus on the last two Fridays and Saturdays in November. People and organizations that collect coats can bring them during stops at the following parking lots:
November 20
7-9a.m. 5725 Coventry Lane, Scott's Food Store parking lot
4-6p.m. 601 East Dupont Road, Scott's Food Store parking lot
