From breaking the latest crime news in Fort Wayne, to covering Indiana’s historic role in the 2008 presidential campaign, Megan Stembol enjoys telling stories that empower and inform Northeast Indiana Hoosiers. You’ll find her reporting live in the field, and also filling in on the anchor desk.

Megan joined NewsChannel 15 in October 2006, producing the Weekend Report. She soon began reporting full-time, and uses her producing background every day on the job. A special project that took her on an in-flight refueling mission with the 434th Air Refueling Wing from Grissom Air Reserve Base, also won her a Best Feature Award from the Indiana Broadcasting Association in 2007.

An “adopted Hoosier”, Megan spent almost a year in the Wabash Valley before coming to WANE. At WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, she worked as a reporter and producer and will always remember a Vermillion County 2-year-old she profiled who had undergone a five-organ transplant

Megan began her career in television at WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo, Mich., after graduating from Western Michigan University. At W.M.U. Megan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast and Cable Production, and another in Spanish. Apart from her degrees, Megan left Western with quite a handle on her second language: Spanish. Through the unforgettable year-long experience of studying abroad, Megan was able to not only travel Spain extensively, but got to know many other European countries as well.

A native of Montague, Mich., Megan grew up sailing Lake Michigan with her unbelievably supportive family. She is happy to have met her husband in the Summit City and, to call it home.
