Chris Hopper joined NewsChannel 15 as a reporter in May of 2008. Chris is very excited to be back in northern Indiana. He is originally from Portage in the northwest part of the state, and comes to Fort Wayne after spending a year at WVHF-TV Indiana 9 in southeastern Indiana. There he worked as a reporter and a producer, and had the opportunity to cover visits from President George W. Bush and Former President Bill Clinton. Chris came into this business wanting to work in sports, but news has opened up great opportunities for him. "I've really grown to love and appreciate the television news business. It has given me the opportunity to cover exciting events that impact lots of people."
Chris graduated from Indiana University in 2007 with a degree in Telecommunications. Chris worked at Indiana University Student Television in all facets of the station. While in school Chris interned in Chicago at WSCR 670 the Score, and Comcast SportsNet. He made the best of every opportunity, and worked hard to walk away with as much knowledge of the business as possible.
Chris loves to spend time with his wife, Jackie, and their dog, Willy. The three couldn't be happier to call Fort Wayne home. In his free time Chris enjoys sports. He's a Bulls, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Colts fan. He has played hockey his entire life, and has enjoyed the others along the way. Two of his greatest memories will always be the experience of the White Sox 2005 World Series win, and the Colts 2006 Super Bowl Championship.
Chris looks forward to delivering the news that matters and affects the lives of the people in this wonderful and welcoming city.
