Megan Reust is a reporter at NewsChannel 15. She knew in high school she would pursue a job in the news business. Megan was one of the youngest students at Huntington North High School to anchor the school’s news program, HNHS Today. She didn’t stop there. Megan also worked behind the scenes. “I did everything from directing the show, to running the teleprompter, and studio cameras.”
Megan is a Huntington, Ind. native, and graduated from Ball State University with a B.A. degree in Telecommunications. During her time in Muncie, she anchored, reported, and served as a fill-in weather forecaster for the Emmy award-winning student produced nightly newscast, NewsWatch. Megan was also apart of BSU’s news immersion program, Newslink Indiana. There she report, shot, edited, and posted all of her stories to the web.
Her first television news job was as a reporter/fill-in anchor/fill-in weather forecaster at WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, Ind. She worked there for a little over a year before returning back home to northern Ind. “I couldn’t be happier to be back home reporting on stories that matter to viewers in the area where I grew up.”
Megan’s a Multimedia Journalist for WANE-TV. She reports, shoots, edits, and also posts stories to wane.com.
When she’s not delivering coverage you can count on, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, giving back to her sorority (Alpha Chi Omega), and catching up with old friends.
