Lee Ann Okuly is NewsChannel 15’s Weekend Evening Meteorologist. As a Huntington native, she is thrilled to be back home at WANE. Lee Ann is a Purdue University graduate. She started her career right here at WANE as an intern, began on air at LIN Media’s sister station in Lafayette, IN, and just returned from working in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Lee Ann earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Synoptic Meteorology from Purdue University and is a member of the American Meteorological Society. While there she also took several classes on TV news, where she first learned the art of the weather wall. Toward the end of her college career she interned at WANE with our very own Greg Shoup. She then returned to West Lafayette to work weekends at WLFI. Her last position was as the morning meteorologist at WSAW in Wausau, Wisconsin.

As a Huntington native, Lee Ann is happy to be back home again in Indiana. She is a huge NASCAR fan and tries to go to the Brickyard 400 for the NASCAR race every year. She also loves summer, mainly the severe weather season. Being back in Ft. Wayne will give her the opportunity to do one of her favorite things… track storms! She also loves sweet corn, basketball, and John Mellencamp… typical of a true Hoosier (or Boilermaker).
